Farm owner and nineteen undocumented suspects behind bars
BENONI – The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Bronberg Precinct officers, in conjunction with the Home Affairs Immigration Department, conducted a hot spot operation in which a farm owner and nineteen undocumented suspects between the ages of twenty and forty-five years old were arrested in the Benoni area.
During the operation, a suspicious farm was identified, and the officials proceeded to investigate. They found the owner and nineteen employees, all Malawian nationals. The farm employees were asked for identification, but could not produce any, while others produced expired passports. The farm owner and the suspects were arrested and taken to Benoni Police Station for further investigations.
