BREAKING NEWS: Ramaphosa’s nephew, Hangwani Maumela – linked to R816 million scandal, has home raided
SANDTON – The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) has raided the fancy Sandhurst home of businessman Hangwani Morgan Maumela. They took expensive cars, designer furniture, and artwork – all believed to be bought with stolen money.
Maumela is accused of leading a group that took R816 million from Tembisa Hospital using fake contracts and dodgy deals.
His group reportedly owns over R520 million in assets – including Lamborghinis and luxury homes in Gauteng and the Western Cape.
The raid was approved by the Special Tribunal, with police and metro officers on the scene. This comes after whistleblower Babita Deokaran raised the alarm about strange payments at the hospital. She was later killed for speaking out.
