Dog rescued from storm water drain

RIET RIVER – A male dog was rescued by Reaction officers from a storm water drain in Tottenham Road. RUSA received a call from a resident requesting assistance to investigate whining canine sounds emanating from a flowing storm water drain at the rear of their property.

On arrival, a RUSA Member discovered the dog partially submerged in water. His hind legs were stuck in the debris. The Officer rescued the dog, but both its rear legs were injured. His owner is not known. The dog was transported to RUSA HQ to be kennelled until he is uplifted by an animal welfare organisation.
