All Bets Are Off! – as bakkie smashes into stationary vehicle, M25
NTUZUMA -The driver of a silver Renault Kwid was injured after his vehicle was rear ended on the M25 on Tuesday morning.
A member of RUSA was on patrol in the area at approximately 07:54 when he drove onto the scene. The Renault Kwid was located in the centre median. The driver was lying in overgrown grass a few meters away from his car. He informed Reaction Officers that he pulled off after he noticed that his bonnet was unlocked.
Upon inspection, he discovered that the lock was faulty. The driver placed his emergency triangle behind his vehicle. A Nissan NP300 bakkie thereafter collided into the rear of his car while he was attempting to repair the lock. The force of the impact resulted in him and his car landing in the centre median. He sustained a suspected fracture to his left leg and injuries to his face.
He was stabilised on scene before being expedited to hospital by ambulance. The driver of the Nissan NP300 bakkie stated that his vision was obscured by the sun and he had not seen the stationary vehicle.
