Chaos as woman is shot in Ackermans during mall robbery

PHOENIX – A female was shot during a robbery at Bridge City Mall in KwaMashu on Sunday morning. A shopper contacted the Reaction Unit South Africa Phoenix Operations Centre at approximately 09:53. The frantic caller informed the Controller On Duty that shots were being fired inside the mall.

All available Reaction Officers were dispatched and on arrival established that several suspects robbed Ackermans Connect. Shots from 9mm pistols and rifles were fired as the robbers made their getaway. One female was shot and expedited privately to hospital. The extent of her injuries are unknown at this stage. The scene was handed over to SAPS for further investigations.
