Scarface Wasn’t Just A Lion, He Was A Living Legend Of The Maasai Mara
Born in 2007, his eye scar gave him a name, but his brutality and dominance made him the undisputed king. It killed more than 400 hyenas, defeated 137 male lions, drove crocodiles from its territory, and was the only lion known to defeat adult hippos in combat. Unlike other males, whose reign rarely exceeds three years, he ruled for nearly a decade.
He survived fatal wounds, defied nature and, in his old age, traveled 30 km to claim his home. Even the feared Salas, a coalition of young and fierce lions, dared not to challenge it. On June 11, 2021, at the age of 14, he died peacefully, without being overthrown, without humiliation. He went like a king, leaving behind a story of power, respect, and fear that will never be forgotten.
