Vehicle crashes into pole, driver rescued with Jaws of Life

UMDLOTI – IPSS Medical Rescue and IPSS S&R Tongaat responded to the N2 near Umdloti, after a vehicle collided with a pole into the centre median.

The collision left the patient severely entrapped, and the Mozambik Claw of Life was used to gain access to the patient, while awaiting the arrival of the Fire Department to extricate the patient.

The patient was stabilised on scene under the care of IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support Paramedics, having sustained serious injuries. She was transported to a specialist facility for further care.
