Pedestrian killed in hit & run accident

PHOENIX – An unidentified man was killed in a hit & run accident on the M41 yesterday afternoon (Wednesday). A motorist contacted the RUSA Phoenix Operations Centre at 20:39 reporting the body of a male lying on a dark stretch of road in the vicinity of the Millennium Bridge.

Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched and on arrival discovered the man’s lifeless body on the road. It is believed that he was struck by a vehicle and dragged several metres.

The vehicle involved in the accident did not stop at the scene. It could not be confirmed if other vehicles had driven over him following the initial accident.
