Pakistani businessman sought for employees murder

VERULAM – A Pakistani businessman is being sought for the murder of one of his employees in the Verulam CBD on Thursday evening. RUSA officers were called out to a block of flats on Thompson Lane at approximately 19:58 after receiving multiple calls of a shooting in progress.

On their arrival, officers discovered a 24 year old Pakistani National with three gunshot wounds to his chest. He succumb to his injuries prior to the arrival of First Responders.

It was established that the suspect is the owner of a cellphone shop on Wick Street. He resides with two of his employees who are also his relatives in a flat above the store. He arrived at the apartment this afternoon and shot one of the men who was standing in the veranda.

He attempted to shoot a second individual, but was locked out. Several live 9mm rounds of ammunition was recovered in the flat and around the deceased’s body.

The suspect then fled into the basement where he hijacked a grey Hyundai Sonata. Reaction Officers tracked and recovered the vehicle abandoned on Old Main Road in Ottawa. The motive for the murder is yet to be established.
