Cellphone snatchers swiflty apprehended
ALBERTON – On Friday at approximately 15:30, Fox Tactical Units responded to an incident at Jacqueline Mall in Randhart, Alberton. Acting swiftly on information received, one of their units observed a vehicle attempting to flee the scene near Kota Joe after the occupants had just snatched a phone from a member of the public.
The vehicle, in its attempt to evade capture, collided with multiple other vehicles. The suspects eventually abandoned the vehicle on Swartkoppies Road, where 4 unknown males fled on foot towards General Alberts Park. Tactical Units, together with brave community members, immediately pursued and successfully apprehended all four suspects.
EMPD CLU took over the scene for further investigation. It was confirmed that the suspects were from JHB CBD and had been wanted for a series of cellphone snatching and robbery incidents across the Alberton area.
