Man critical after motor vehicle accident on N2

TONGAAT – On Tuesday morning IPSS Medical Rescue received reports of a motor vehicle accident on the N2 near Crocodile Creek. On arrival of paramedics it was established that a light delivery vehicle had rear-ended a truck. The passenger of the light delivery vehicle was found to have sustained critical injuries and was severely entrapped in the wreckage.

The man was stabilised by IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support paramedics whilst being extricated by the Fire Department. The man was then airlifted by the Air Mercy Service (AMS) helicopter to a specialised facility for further care. Sadly, despite the best efforts of paramedics and doctors, the man succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at hospital.

Our sincere condolences to the friends and family of the deceased. The driver of the light delivery vehicle was lucky to escape with minor injuries and was transported to hospital by IPSS Medical Rescue.
