Family of bail applicant threatens to shoot investigating officer

VERULAM – A teenager and his 32 year old neighbour were arrested after they threatened to shoot an Investigating Officer responsible for opposing bail for two females appearing on a criminal case at the Verulam Magistrates Court in today (Friday).

RUSA officers received a call for assistance from the Policeman who was confronted by an 18 year old male and his neighbour shortly after exiting the court. They threatened to shoot the Policeman for opposing bail for teenager mother & her co-accused who drugged and robbed a 75 year old male in Ottawa.

The duo were arrested in Chatsworth & Phoenix by Reaction Officers in November 2024. They have since been linked to several other cases of robbery with a similar modus operandi.

Reaction Officers immediately mobilised and located two suspects matching the description provided by the Policeman fleeing along Wick Street in CBD. RUSA Members immediately apprehended and restrained them. The two were detained at the Verulam SAPS.
