Injured vervet monkey rescued

SOUTHRIDGE – A Vervet Monkey that was rescued from a home in Ivy Street in Southridge has been housed temporarily at the RUSA Headquarters. Reaction Officers responding to call for assistance found the animal with an injured left eye.

Officers are standing by for assistance from Monkey Helpline, who later collected the primate for medical attention. Once the monkey is cleared, it will be released back into the wild again.
