Another E-hailing driver shot during hijacking

AMAOTI – An E-Hailing driver was shot during a hijacking yesterday afternoon. Reaction officers received a call for assistance from a member of the public at approximately 15:04.

Officers were immediately dispatched. While responding to the call, Officers were flagged down by the occupants of a silver Toyota Corolla Verso on a road leading from Trenance Park to Amaoti. The victim was in the rear seat. He sustained a single gunshot wound to his abdomen.

The man informed Officers that he is a service provider for an E-Hailing service. He was summoned to Pavilion Hotel. He uplifted two men and transported them to Amaoti. When they reached their destination his clients were joined by two other men who produced firearms. They shot the victim and sped off in his white Toyota Rumion with registration BR09NR-ZN.

Onlookers assisted the injured male and were in the process of transporting him to a medical facility when they flagged Reaction Officers down.
