Truck driver flees following collision

VERULAM – The driver of a tip truck fled on foot after he overturned his vehicle while fleeing the scene of a hit & run accident in Temple Valley on Saturday afternoon. RUSA officers were called out to Garland Street at approximately 13h17. On their arrival, they discovered a white Mercedes Benz tip truck lying on its side.

The driver of a silver Kia Picanto informed Officers that the truck collided into her vehicle on Todd Street. The driver of the truck drove off without stopping. The tipper struck a white Isuzu bakkie on Garland Street before it overturned on its side. It was loaded with stone. The driver abandoned the wreckage and fled on foot. No injuries were reported.
