Possible faulty wires left vehicle gutted by fire

VERULAM – A vehicle was completely guttered in a fire on Wick Street in the Verulam CBD yesterday morning. Members of the public contacted the RUSA Operations Centre from 11:21 reporting a white Renault Triber on fire. Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched and on arrival discovered the vehicle engulfed in flames.

The owner informed officers that noticed smoke entering the car shortly after parking he parked. He rapidly exited the vehicle to investigate further, but the car burst into flames. He further stated that he purchased the car in July 2024 and had not conducted any repairs or modifications. Firefighters arrived on scene and extinguished the fire, but the vehicle was completely gutted.
