Mzansi’s snack catcher: Nathi Ndaba catches snakes left right and center
COTTONLANDS – A Mozambican Spitting Cobra measuring approximately 1.2 meters was captured on a property in Hilltop on Thursday morning after Area Manager Nkosinathi Ndaba was dispatched to a property after the snake was discovered under a bed in an outbuilding.
On arrival, the RUSA officer identified the snake as a high venomous Mozambican Spitting Cobra. The species is regarded as one of the most dangerous snakes in Africa due to its Cytotoxic venom. Officer Ndaba safely captured and relocated the snake.
In another incedint this morning, a 2.5 meter Black Mamba was captured by Reaction Officer Nathi Ndaba in an outdoor toilet area. RUSA received the call for assistance after the snake was spotted by a resident on their property.
Later on Friday afternoon, yet another unidentified snake was caught. Officer Nathi Ndaba removed an unidentified 1,3 meter green snake from a driveway gate in Parkgate. The snake was released near a stream away from residential areas. Reaction Unit South Africa attended to (14) fourteen callouts of Snakes on Premises since Sunday 21/10/2024.
