Two men injured during shooting incident

VERULAM – Two men were injured in a shooting incident in Iqadi yesterday morning. RUSA received a call from the Verulam SAPS requesting Emergency Medical Assistance at the scene. RUSA Members were immediately dispatched and arrived at approximately 10:41.

One person was found the have been shot in the neck and shoulder. A second person was shot in the arm. He was transported privately to hospital prior to the arrival of First Responders.

Details surrounding the shooting were not immediately established, but it was alleged that a dispute over the sale of taxi spares led to the incident. One person was taken into custody for questioning and an Astra pistol was recovered. The injured male was stabilised on scene before being transported to hospital.
