Stab victim collapses after walking six kilometres

PALMVIEW – A 25 year old Mozambican national collapsed after walking 6.4 kilometres while bleeding profusely from stab wounds he sustained during a robbery. A member of the public contacted the RUSA Operations Centre at approximately 17:54 after he discovered the man seated on Himalaya Drive in Everest Heights.

Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched and on arrival found the male bleeding from stab wounds to his chest, back and arms. He informed RUSA Members that he was confronted by six (6) suspects who robbed him for his cellphone and wallet containing R500 in cash.

The victim was repeatedly stabbed after he attempted to fight off his attackers. He walked from Phoenix to Verulam, but collapsed before he reached his residence in Mhlasini.

Reaction Officers summoned RUSA Paramedics to the scene, however the victim declined medical and opted not to register a criminal case. He was transported to hospital by his neighbour who arrived shortly thereafter.
