Two accidents involving overloaded trailers & lack of rear lights

HARTBEESPOORT – In a series of unfortunate events over the weekend, two separate accidents occurred approximately 500 meters apart on the R512 late Saturday evening, involving overloaded trailers that lacked functioning rear lights.

The accidents resulted in four individuals being treated for injuries and subsequently transported to a local hospital in town.

According to reports, the accidents happened when vehicles with overloaded trailers were struck from behind by other vehicles. The trailers, which were not equipped with operational rear lights, created a hazardous situation on the road. The lack of visibility contributed significantly to the collisions.

The H.E.M.S team responded promptly to both scenes. Four patients were treated for various injuries and were taken to a hospital in Brits for further medical attention. Thank you for all emergency units for scene control and clean-up!
