Young children escape injury during collision
TEA ESTATE – Two children aged three & ten escaped injury during a collision on Jabu Ngcobo Road in Tea Estate yesterday. Residents contacted the RUSA Operations Centre at approximately 16:51 requesting assistance for the injured driver of a silver Renault Kiger.
On arrival, Reaction Officers discovered both children in the vehicle with their mother who was driving at the time of the incident. The female sustained spinal injuries and was transported to hospital by a private ambulance service.
The driver of a silver Haval H1 informed Reaction Officers that he was travelling towards Inanda and was in the process of turning right into Hilltop. The Renault Kiger was travelling in the same direction but attempted to overtake. Both vehicles collided and the Renault Kiger travelled several metres before it collided into a wire fence. The driver of the Haval H1 was not injured.
