Tributes pour in for late musician, Malome Vector

FREE STATE – Tributes have started pouring in following the tragic death of award-winning musician Bokang Moleli, better known as Malome Vector. The Sotho musician lost his life in a car crash, which also claimed the lives of two other artists in the Free State on Wednesday.

Police spokesperson Mahlomola Kareli says two people survived the crash. “Members rushed to the scene and discovered that the accident involved a truck and a sky blue Datsun iGo light motor vehicle. It is alleged that both vehicles were travelling north when the accident happened, and the Datsun iGo ended up under the trailer of the truck, killing three males. Two others, a male and a female, were rushed to the hospital in a critical condition.

“The light motor vehicle had five occupants – four males and one female. Only two males and a female’s identities were found at the scene. The other two are unknown at this stage”.

Mahlomola says a case of culpable homicide is being investigated. In a statement released by Malome Vector’s family, they say the musician leaves behind his daughter, wife, mother, father and four siblings.
