Intoxicated doctor arrested following accident

BRINDHAVEN – A 26-year-old doctor was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after he ran over a pedestrian on Fairview Drive in Brindhaven on Saturday afternoon.

Members of RUSA were called out to the scene to provide medical assistance for a female pedestrian who was run over by a red Hyundai i20. On arrival, Reaction Officers discovered that the occupants of the vehicle were heavily under the influence of alcohol.

The driver was placed under arrest by Police who arrived shortly thereafter. The pedestrian sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital for medical attention.
