Fraudster, Priscilla Barnard (49) remanded in custody

DURBAN – The 49-year-old Priscilla Barnard has been remanded in custody by the Verulam Magistrates Court in Kwazulu Natal. Barnard, a Johannesburg resident was arrested by Members of Reaction Unit South Africa, SAPS Verulam Detectives & Wesbank Forensic Division on Tuesday this week.

She was charged for Forgery, Theft of Motor Vehicle & Uttering on Verulam Cas 356/06/2024. Detectives from several provinces have since made contact with the RUSA Operations Center believing that she was sought after nationally for scamming car dealerships of brand new high end vehicles after intentionally provinding fictitious & fraudulent documents taken in female identity theft cases.

None of the vehicles have been recovered. Priscilla Barnard will remain in custody until her next appearance on 27 June 2024.
