One dead, multiple injured in multi-vehicle collision

MANDENI – IPSS Medical Rescue alongside IPSS Search and Rescue responded to reports of a multi-vehicle accident on the R102 near Mandeni. On arrival of paramedics, it was established that four vehicles had collided into each other.

Four people were found to have sustained minor injuries and one patient sustained critical injuries. Sadly, one person was found to have sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased on scene.

Due to the nature of the critical patient’s injuries, the decision was made to activate a med-evac helicopter. The patient was airlifted to hospital by the Netcare911 helicopter for further care. Our sincere condolences to the friends and family of the deceased.
