Madibeng Mayor hands over service delivery projects in Oukasie
OUKASIE – The Executive Mayor of Madibeng Local Municipality Cllr. Douglas Maimane handed over service delivery projects in Oukasie funded through the Municipal Infrastructure Grant (MIG).
The projects included the 5.5km rehabilitated road and 450m interlocked paved road both constructed at an amount of R13.5m as well as the Oukasie Taxi Rank built at an amount of R5.7m. The Mayor and his entourage went on to inspect other ongoing projects which included upgrading of internal roads in Vuka , the new cemetery and as well launched the second phase of rehabilitation of roads.
The Mayor expressed his satisfaction with the progress made on the projects saying that, “I’m very much impressed with what I saw today in Oukasie. The quality of work that is being done is quite impressive. Ours is to deliver quality and sustainable services to the people of Madibeng –
I wish to further appeal to the the community of Oukasie to take care of this infrastructure as it belongs to them and no one else. They should be very jealous of their property and report any form of vandalism to law enforcement agencies” – the Mayor concluded. He was accompanied by Members of the Mayoral Committee, Senior Management of the Municipality, Oukasie Taxi Association and members of the community.
