Driver crashes into tree during hijacking

OAKFORD – No injuries were reported after a vehicle crashed into a tree during a hijacking attempt on Oakford Road in Redcliffe. Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to the scene at approximately 23:06 after receiving reports of the incident. On arrival, Reaction Officers met with the driver of a silver Mercedes Benz C180.

He explained that he was travelling on Oakford Road when a suspect hurled a brick through his windscreen. The driver veered off the road and crashed into a tree. He believed that the perpetrators intended on hijacking his vehicle. The suspects fled empty handed.
