Man abducted – left for dead in bush
SOUTHRIDGE – A 37-year-old male was abducted, assaulted and left for dead in a bush in Southridge area. Reaction officers were dispatched to Crasula Drive after residents discovered the male with his hands & legs bound with cable ties and rope. His mouth was taped shut.
The victim informed Officers that he and his brother were walking on Garland Street in Temple Valley on Saturday afternoon when the occupants of a white double cab bakkie (model & registration unknown) confronted them. He has no recollection of events that occurred thereafter and believes that it is due to a head injury he sustained while being assaulted.
He regained consciousness in a bush in Southridge on Sunday morning and sought assistance from residents who contacted RUSA for assistance. Officers freed the man from his restraints. His 27-year-old brother could not be located. He believes that his attackers left him for dead in a bush following the assault. The victim sustained multiple injuries to his head but declined medical attention.
