Housebreaker rescued by the EMPD before attemted mob justice
PUTFONTEIN – On Friday 05 April 2024 at 15h00, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department Bromberg Precinct Officers, rescued a 32-year-old African male alleged suspect, for housebreaking from the angry community members, in the Putfontein area.
The EMPD Officers, responded to a complaint, addressed by a concerned member of the public, about an alleged suspect, who broke into a house on Geldenhys Road but, was caught by the residents, of the community.
Upon arrival, Officers found the suspect with the suspected stolen goods and a complainant, who was on the scene and confirmed that, she was the liable house owner and recovered items, belongs to her. Upon questioning the alleged suspect, he admitted to the offence and stated that, he was told there was money at the said address, by an unknown person.
The suspect, was immediately placed under arrest and handcuffed, while he was marched to Putfontein police station and lawfully detained. The EMPD, encourages members of the public, to refrain from taking the law into their own hands but, to rather call the authorities to do the necessary.
