BREAKING NEWS: One hell of a storm hits Cape Town, schools closed

CAPE TOWN – SA Weather Services issued a level 9 weather warning for the southern parts of the Cape Winelands and Overberg districts. With videos/photos spreading like wild fire on social media, it show how the Cape is suffering emense damage to infrastructure due to the storm.

The Western Cape Government also announced that schools in the Overberg, Cape Winelands and Helderberg areas will be forced to close on Monday due to the severe weather currntly expieranced.

All locals and visitors needs to prioritise safety due to an unprecedented Level 9 weather warning. Expect 100-150mm of rain and very strong winds in the next 24-36 hours. Please stay where you are if safe to do so, as travel is strongly discouraged. Major attractions, including Cape Point, Table Mountain Aerial Cableway, and the Overberg areas, are temporarily closed.

No flights from Cape Town International Airport are currently impacted for arrivals and departures. Current on time departures are at 94%. Passengers are encouraged to download the ACSA app to get regular updates on their flight schedules. Please also check with your airline for more details.
