Warrant officer, petrol attendants arrested

LINDLEY – A 52-year-old SAPS Warrant Officer and 4 petrol attendants were arrested in Lindley, Free State, for fraud. It is alleged that between January 2022 and August 2022, the officer used different state petrol cards by misrepresenting as if he poured petrol into the State vehicles whereas, The vehicles were not at the fuel station but parked at Lindley SAPS.

The investigation was triggered after the station commander of Lindley SAPS became suspicious of overspending on fuel. As a result of the officer and the petrol attendants crime, the SAPS suffered a loss of R46 991.
