Suspect arrested trying to despose of firearm

MEYERSDAL – A suspicious VW polo traveling without number plates was flagged by the CPS Security Surveilance trailer in the Brackendowns area. The vehicle was spotted by the tactical units and the driver was placed under arrest after ammunition was discovered in the motor vehicle.

The suspect threw a firearm into a resident yard which was recovered by CPS and SAPS. They suspect that the firearm was used in a commission of crime. It was later established that the suspect originally attempted to dispose of the firearm at the entrance of Eco estate.
