Two killed, multiple injured in separate vehicle accidents
STANGER – IPSS Medical Rescue alongside IPSS Search and Rescue received reports of a head-on collision on the N2 near Gingindlovu.
Whilst on route to the initial scene, members came across a second motor vehicle accident on the N2 near Stanger where a single vehicle had rolled. The single occupant sustained critical injuries and was found to be entrapped in the wreckage. The driver was stabilised on scene and extricated by KDM Fire Department. They were transported to hospital under the care of an IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support paramedic.
Sadly, at the head-on collision, it was established that two people had sustained fatal injuries and were declared deceased on scene. A further two patients sustained critical injuries and one sustained minor injuries and refused transportation to hospital. The critically injuries patients were extricated from the vehicles by Rural Metro Fire Department and transported to hospital by IPSS Medical Rescue.
