Multiple lives claimed in horror head-on collision on N4

BRITS – A devastating head-on collision on Wednesday morning between two vehicles, one of which was traveling on the wrong side of the highway, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries.

The collision, occurred when one vehicle veered into oncoming traffic, which led to a horrifying impact that claimed the lives of three individuals including a minor. HEMS and Station 21 Fire & Rescue swiftly responded to the scene.

Station 21 Fire & Rescue worked tirelessly to extricate two individuals trapped in the wreckage, their efforts a testament to their unwavering commitment to saving lives. Despite their best efforts, one person succumbed to their injuries at the hospital, adding to the toll of the tragedy.

Four patients including three minors were treated on scene by HEMS paramedic and transported to a hospital in Brits for further medical care, their conditions reflecting the severity of the collision’s impact. The gravity of the situation was further underscored by the decision to airlift one patient to a hospital in Johannesburg, highlighting the critical nature of their injuries and the need for specialized care.
