Nine (9) suspects arrested after discovery of drug lab
KRUGERSDORP – A clandestine drug laboratory worth millions has been discovered, what police believe to be a superlab operating on a factory scale Pulley Street, Boltonia in Krugersdorp West and nine (9) suspects aged between 18 and 55 arrested.
The discovery of the drug lab was subsequent to allegations that surfaced about the operation thereof.
The members of the Serious Organised Crime Investigation team descended upon the dilapidated factory where they found an assortment of methamphetamine producing chemicals in large quantities. During the search of the premises, nine (9) suspects, including two females, were apprehended.
The arrested suspects will make their first appearance in the Krugersdorp Magistrates court on Wednesday, 14 February 2024, facing charges of manufacturing of illicit drugs.
The Provincial Head of the Hawks in Gauteng, Major General Ebrahim Kadwa, lauded the sterling work by the team and encouraged them to aim for the kingpins. The investigation continues.
