Electricity disruption blamed for house fire
TONGAAT – A house on Chelmsford Crescent in Chelmsford Heights was gutted in a fire yesterday afternoon. The Reaction Unit South Africa Tongaat Operations Centre received a call for assistance at approximately 18:43.
On arrival, Reaction Officers discovered Emergency Services on scene. Firefighters were in the process of dousing the fire which completely engulfed the residence. According to neighbours, they heard an explosion shortly after electricity to the area was disrupted. They discovered the house engulfed in flames upon investigation. No injuries were reported.
