Teenage burglar arrested with stolen goods
PHOENIX – A 19-year-old male was arrested and goods stolen during a house break-in were recovered by Reaction Officers in Phoenix.
Members of RUSA were on patrol when they noticed the suspect exiting a bush carrying two (2) filled pillow cases. The suspect re-entered the bush when he noticed Reaction Officers approaching.
RUSA Members apprehended him and discovered the pillow cases filled with several pairs of takkies, outdoor lights, extension cords, a hair straightener & power tools.
During an interview, the teenager confirmed that he had just burgled a residence in the nearby vicinity. He led Reaction Officers to a house on Towerbridge Gardens in Stonebridge. Neighbours made contact with the owner who arrived shortly thereafter.
A bedroom window was discovered ajar and all the rooms in the house were ransacked. The owner confirmed that the stolen goods including the pillow cases belonged to him. The teenager was placed under arrest and handed over to the Phoenix SAPS.
