Exciting new art initiative launched

CAPE TOWN – An exciting bollard art initiative is unfolding in the heart of the Cape Town CBD. The innovative project by CCID Urban Management is set to transform ordinary street fixtures into vibrant canvases and celebrate iconic CBD locations through African-inspired designs.

Urban Management will collaborate with various artists from HandCantrol 360 Crew who will paint 19 bollards in St Georges Mall.

Says manager Kally Benito: “This initiative aims to infuse our community with vibrant and diverse art, creating a unique and visually appealing atmosphere. The deliberate choice highlights the richness of African heritage, and a celebration of the City’s history and serves as a visual reminder of a collaborative effort that brings communities together.”

The department will extend the project to other parts of the mall as well as other spaces in the CBD.
