Lethlabile power outage update

MADIBENG – A lightning strike caused damages to the Letlhabile Substation A power transformer (10MVA) last night around 22H00.

As a result, sections under the said facility (Substation A) have been without power since the incident occurred. These sections include, Zone 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 16, parts of Block B, Block E, Block F and Industrial Area. The Municipal maintenance team along with a team of specialists have been on site since this morning carrying out repair works which include among others replacement of damaged components of the transformer.

Restoration time cannot be determined at the moment, however the Municipality will continue to monitor the progress and communicate accordingly.

NB: All electrical installations must be treated as live throughout the outage period.
