Car thief arrested near taxi rank

GAUTENG – Control room was contacted by a CPS client after a member of the public’s vehicle was stolen in Penzance str. The stolen vehicle was last spotted driving towards Swartkoppies Rd.

Reaction units travelled to the last known direction and were flagged down by taxi drivers at a local taxi rank. They informed the officersthat the suspects had just ran into the taxi rank.

Officerss entered the taxi rank and managed to apprehend one suspect with the help of the community and Fox Security. The second suspect managed to escape on foot.

Car breaking implements were found in the suspects possession and the stolen motor vehicle was found two streets away from the taxi rank. Job well done to everyone involved.
