Two suspects arrested for Soshanguve shooting

SOSHANGUVE – Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi on Tuesday confirmed the arrest of two suspects believed to be behind the Soshanguve shooting. Police in Gauteng are probing a shooting incident that claimed four lives in Jukulyn, Soshanguve, north of Pretoria.

In the early hours of Monday morning, police attended to the incident and found four people with gunshot wounds on the street. Police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said among the victims was a 14-year-old teenage girl.

“The circumstances that led to the shooting are unknown at this stage and no suspects have been arrested as yet. The police request anyone who may have information that can assist with the investigation to contact the Crime Stop Line.”

Speaking to the media outside the local police station, Lesufi said police are continuing with investigations to determine the motive behind the shooting.

“Police have made a major breakthrough, two of the suspects were arrested in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday) and police have indicated to me that they are looking for other suspects. They are quite convinced that after processing and dealing with the matter with those arrested they will know the motive behind this attack.”
