Police arrest suspects with drug seizure worth R3 million
POLOKWANE – Police in Limpopo made a major drug bust when they successfully intercepted a motor vehicle carrying heroin drugs with an estimated street value of R3 million. The multi-disciplinary operation, conducted on Monday morning, 01 January 2024, resulted in the apprehension of two foreign national male suspects.
Acting on intelligence, officers intercepted the vehicle at R510 en route to Thabazimbi from Tanzania and discovered a substantial quantity of heroin drugs hidden within a false compartment.
“The meticulous operation showcases the dedication of our members in combating and keeping our communities safe and free from the scourge of illegal narcotics,” remarked Lieutenant General Hadebe. The suspects aged 55 and 56 are currently in custody, and investigations are ongoing to uncover the network behind this significant drug trafficking operation.
