Eight injured in taxi crash after break failure

BUFFELSDRAAI – Eight people were injured after a mini bus taxi crashed on Buffelsdraai Road in Buffelsdraai this morning. Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to the scene at approximately 07:24 after receiving multiple calls from the public reporting the accident.

On arrival, it was established that the fully loaded grey Toyota Hiace was travelling down a steep road when the brakes failed. The vehicle came to a stop after it struck a Jojo tank, collided with a wood & iron structure and a light pole. Eight occupants of the vehicle sustained minor to moderate injuries. The injured were stabilised on scene before being transported to hospital by ambulance.
