Horrific accident leaves multiple injured and deceased

FAIRBREEZE, N2 – IPSS Medical Rescue received reports of a collision between two light motor vehicles and a truck on the N2 near Fairbreeze. Paramedics arrived to a chaotic scene with multiple patients on scene. Reports from the scene appear to indicate that a light motor vehicle with two occupants collided with another light motor vehicle with a family of five. One of the vehicles then veered into the path of an oncoming truck.

Two patients sustained serious injuries and were transported to hospital by IPSS Medical Rescue. A third patient was found to have sustained critical injuries and was stabilised on scene by IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support paramedics before being airlifted by the Netcare911 helicopter to an appropriate trauma facility.

Sadly, four people sustained fatal injuries and were declared deceased on scene. Our sincere condolences to the friends and family of those who lost their lives in this tragic incident. SAPS was on scene and will be investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision. The southbound lanes will remain closed whilst the investigation is underway.
