DRUNK MINI DRIVER CAUSES SERIOUS ACCIDENT ON M27

VERULAM – Two occupants of a light motor vehicle were injured following a head on collision on the M27 at the entrance of Mt. Moreland on Friday afternoon.

Reaction officers received multiple calls from the public requesting assistance. Reaction Officers & RUSA Paramedics were immediately dispatched and arrived on scene at 16h32.

Witnesses informed Reaction Officers that a silver Mini Copper veered into oncoming traffic and collided head on in a champagne VW Polo. The driver of the VW Polo was trapped in the wreckage. He was extracted by Paramedics from RUSA and IPSS Medical Services. His passenger sustained moderate injuries. The 29 year old driver of the Mini Cooper was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol.
