R2,41 less for diesel this December

SOUTH AFRICA – The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy has announced a significant drop in the price of diesel for the month of December. It will decrease by R2,35c and R2,41c per litre respectively. Both grades of petrol will decrease by 65 cents per litre. Illuminating paraffin will decrease by R2,28 cents per litre, while the maximum retail price of LP Gas will increase by R1,67c per kilogram.

The department’s spokesperson Robert Maake says the prices adjustment were influenced by the low oil prices and stronger Rand vs US Dollar during the period under review. Yet South Africans won’t see the price of fuel breach below R20,00 anytime soon. Fuel prices are set to kick in on Wednesday.
