Police dismantle counterfeit operations

PARKTOWN – An integrated operation focusing on counterfeit and contraband goods was conducted in Langlaagte, Johannesburg District, on Wednesday, 29 November 2023 after police received information from Police Crime Intelligence about the illegal manufacturing of plastic refuge bags and ‘hookah’ tobacco at Crown Mines Langlaagte. Police pounced on the premises and arrested eleven (11) undocumented suspects.

Fines were also issued by the Department of Home Affairs, Immigration to employers for employing undocumented persons.
