100 years of the Hartbeespoort dam wall

HARTBEESPOORT – The Minister of Water and Sanitation, Minister Senzo Mchunu led the #HartiesDamCentenary celebrations to mark 100 years of the Hartbeespoort Dam Wall.

The Minister accompanied by his Deputy, Minister David Mahlobo were hosted by Mayor of Madibeng Local Municipality, acting Mayor of Bojanala Platinum District Municipality and Magalies Water.

September 2023 marked a centenary since the dam wall was completed and celebrations were held today. Hartebeespoort Dam and it’s wall attract numerous tourism activities with Harties Boat Company, ChillK Winery and Restaurant, Aerial Cableway, Hartbeespoort, Harties Harbour Upside Down House Broederstroom, Little Paris, Hartebeespoortdam Leeto Experience Van Gaalen Cheese Farm to name a few.

Hartebeespoort is a hive of activity and forms a gate way into North West Province from Gauteng Province.
