Five (5) crowbar gang members arrested

STELLENBOSCH – Vigilant members attached to SAPS Stellenbosch Crime Prevention Unit arrested five suspects aged between 32 and 41 on charges of possession of presumed stolen property.

Their arrest follows after members received information today about a crowbar gang that is operating in Stellenbosch area. The members operationalised the information and awaited the suspicious vehicle in Helshoogte Road, Stellenbosch. The vehicle was stopped with five occupants inside.

The members searched the vehicle and found a television, cellphones and jewellery. As they continued with the search they also found house breaking instruments. The five suspects were immediately arrested and detained.
