Two seriously injured, one airlifted in Pretoria crash

GAUTENG – Emer-G-Med paramedics responded to the intersection of Solomon Mahlangu Drive and January Masilela Drive in the Moreleta Park area of Pretoria East for reports of a serious motor vehicle collision.

On arrival on scene two females were found to be entrapped in the one vehicle, both having suffered critical injuries. The pair were treated, stabilized before being extricated with the assistance of Netcare 911, Gauteng Provincial EMS, VEMRU and the Tshwane Fire Department.

Due to the severity of the one patient’s injuries a decision was made to airlift her to a specialist facility with the assistance of the Netcare911 aeromedical helicopter. The second patient was taken by ambulance under the care of an Emergency Care Practitioner to a nearby hospital for further care.
